The IALT Annual Conference will take place at the Stormont Hotel, Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast, from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th November 2013.
The theme of this year’s conference is Changing Times for the Legal Professions - Re-evaluating the Role of the Law Teacher
As usual, the conference will have a strong academic tone, with a series of keynote and plenary sessions, alongside parallel sessions catering for a wide range of papers on discrete areas of law.
The Annual Conference is also widely valued as an opportunity for social interaction, and this year will be no exception. The conference will open with the awarding of the IALT James C Brady Teaching Prize on Friday night followed by a buffet dinner, a cultural outing on Saturday afternoon, the gala dinner (dress code: smart) on Saturday night and plenty of opportunities for networking and establishing contacts with colleagues researching and teaching in other institutions in Ireland and abroad. The AGM of the IALT will take place following lunch on Sunday.
The Hastings Stormont Hotel is located a short distance from Belfast City Centre and overlooks the grounds of the beautiful Stormont Estate, home to the Northern Ireland Assembly. The hotel is served by the Number 4A from Belfast Central Station as well as direct bus and taxi services from Belfast City Centre.
