Brady<span lang="EN" style="font-family:Arial; mso-ansi-language:EN"> Teaching Innovation Fund award will be made to an Ordinary Member of the IALT to support scholarly activity related to legal education and teaching activity in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The prize will be awarded at the IALT annual conference in November 2013.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">  </span>The maximum value of the award is €500.</span> <span lang="EN" style="font-family:Arial; mso-ansi-language:EN">Any Ordinary Member of the Association may make an application for an award from the Fund.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">  </span>Applications may be made by a single member or a group of members provided that no member shall make more than one application to the Fund in any given year in which an award is to be made.</span> <span lang="EN" style="font-family:Arial; mso-ansi-language:EN">Without prejudice to the exercise of its general discretion, in coming to its decisions the Committee shall take the following matters into account: a. The originality of the project. b. The impact, if any, which the project would have on the teaching of law in the applicant’s institution. c. Any Ordinary Member of the Association may make an application for an award from the Fund. 2. Applications may be made by a single member or a group of members provided that no member shall make more than one application to the Fund in any given year in which an award is to be made. 3. In every year in which an award is to be made, the Council shall specify the date by which applications are to be received. The President of the Association shall cause the closing date to be advertised on the Association's website. Applications which are received after the closing date shall not be considered by the Committee. 4. A judging panel will be nominated by the President of the Association.  The decision of the judging panel on eligibility and any other matter arising from the competition shall be final. 5. The judging panel shall consider applications, and having considered all the applications received in any given year, shall determine, in the exercise of its discretion what awards should be made, providing always that in considering an application the Committee shall have regard to such assistance, financial or otherwise, as the applicant may have obtained, or may be able to obtain. 6. In considering any particular application, the Committee may make an award of a smaller sum than that which was applied for. In deciding to make such a reduced award, the Committee may consider any alternative sources of support, including financial support, which are available to the applicant. 7. Without prejudice to the exercise of its general discretion, in coming to its decisions the Committee shall take the following matters into account: a. The originality of the project. b. The impact, if any, which the project would have on the teaching of law in the applicant's institution. c. The impact, if any, which the project would have on the teaching of law in Ireland or Northern Ireland. 8. All decisions made by the Committee in respect of applications and awards shall be final. 9. Each successful applicant to the Fund shall make a brief report to the Council of the Association not more than twelve months after receipt of the award. The President of the Association shall cause such reports to be publicised on the Association's website. 10. In every year in which an award has been made, the Chairperson of the Committee shall make a report to be received by the Association at its Annual General Meeting, such report to include the names of successful applicants together with a brief account of the project for which an award was made and the total number of applications received. The names of the unsuccessful applicants shall not be published by the Committee.
